Who Earns The Solid Support?

Despite the SAPP President and Deputy President Datuk Yong Teck Lee and Datuk Tham Nyip Shen respectively, not being able to stand for the 11th General Election, the party has more to feel happy than sad.

At the close of the nomination, Shim Paw Fatt was announced the Member of Parliament for Tawau while his colleague, Datuk Raymond Tan was made the State Assemblyman for Tanjut Papat. They were joined with others similarly lucky colleagues from Barisan Nasional.

Of course it was not mere luck that they have won the seats unopposed. They have worked hard and have other factors to help them. The main reasons are that the Chinese community feel sorry for the two top leaders for not being able to lead. The signature campaign which was carried out earlier has brought about a lot of positive results. Intended independent candidates have also chosen other areas instead of facing Shim and Raymond.

This is an indication of the solid support given to them which no one could deny.

Meanwhile, looking at the other BN component party, LDP, it is breathing through its mouth. With strong challenges from all corners, LDP is not expected to perform well. In fact bookies through out the state is buying LDP scoring zero in this election. This will leave its party president nothing to brag and proud about.

That certainly serves Datuk Chong Kah Kiat well. He has no one to blame but himself. He has asked for such trouble and the trouble will not just stop here. The way Chon has mistreated the people of Sabah, misled and betrayed the Chinese, humiliated the voters in Merotai by insisting on a rejected candidate are some of his lifetime mistakes. The proud and arrogant Chong might not have realised it now, but the people will show him slowly but eventually. He will face the music soon.

Why not even a single LDP candidate won unopposed if Chong and his blind followers have claimed doing so much for the people? Why his rival party, SAPP, scored two and LDP ZERO?

The people did no wrong to Chong Kah Kiat and LDP but it was Chong Kah Kiat who wronged the people of Sabah.
